Our Multi-Pure Filtered Water Tastes Great
by Phyllis Wheeler ~ April 15th, 2009.We’ve been using our filtered water for a while now, and I’m very happy with it. The kids have taken to it as well, willingly filling up their stainless steel bottles to take along when needed. The water tastes really good, and it’s so easy to fill up a pot of water for cooking. It doesn’t take very long at all.
The previous system I used was a Pur or Brita countertop reservoir (like a large pitcher, with a spigot). It worked fine, but the flow rate was miserably low. I never would have used it for a pot of soup. Actually, I just filled a pot with filtered water for a pot of soup.
Also, I got tired of washing the reservoir. It just didn’t generate enough filtered water for six people, and was a bother to boot. So I stopped using it. That was a number of years ago.
In the meantime we’ve been drinking good old St. Louis tap water, which is pretty good but still has plenty of undesirable stuff in it. I am thrilled to be able to filter it now, do a good job, get high flow, and no maintenance (except once a year, changing the filter). The system components seem very durable, so I don’t expect to have to take Multi-Pure up on its warranty. I’m especially happy because we have two kids with Asperger’s, and it seems that people on the autism spectrum have trouble getting toxins out of their bodies. So now we’re being responsible about not letting toxins into our drinking water.

Hi Phyllis,
I came across your water filter reviews and I was wondering how
you came to promote this company? Even to the point of being
able to offer a discount! I am looking at adding a Multipure
and saw your blog. Are you associated with the company?
Do you get money back for what is sold through your site?
I hope I don’t sound to harsh with my questions but I’m just
very curious.

Hi Curtis,
Here’s my story, no problem. (It’s summarized on the home page
of this Web site too.)
I was looking for a product to promote, and decided on water
filters by another company because of their affiliate system.
Then I discovered that the other company’s filters had gotten
poor reviews online; in other words, they were too flimsy.
So I looked for and found a very effective filter, MultiPure,
which is durable. I bought one and am happy with it.
I became a Multi-Pure distributor, and this is
my Web site for that. I decided to offer a substantial
discount; I do get some money still from each transaction,
but not much! When you purchase through this site, you need to
copy my discount code, click on the item link to go to the Multi-Pure site, and then paste in the code to get my discount. Multi-Pure is selling you the filter, and I am the distributor. So you get a full warranty.
Hope that clears up any confusion!

Hi Phyllis,
Thanks for your website. I too am concerned about toxins in municipal water. I’ve spent a few weeks doing a ton of research on different water filter systems. I agree that Multi-Pure is the best on the market. (And I was very turned off by questionable Aquasana marketing practices – ie. numerous fake websites – and their lack of NSF certification.) Do you know if their MPAD countertop model is BPA free polypropylene? They don’t seem to specify, and that’s a huge selling point for me. I am trying to decide between the stainless steel models and this plastic one (MPAD). Thanks, Susan

Hi Susan,
I asked MultiPure your question:
“Do you know if their MPAD countertop model is BPA free polypropylene?
They don’t seem to specify, and that’s a huge selling point for me. I am
trying to decide between the stainless steel models and this plastic one
(MPAD).”
Here is the answer:
“Yes, the MPAD is BPA Free. We use food grade quality polypropylene for
our plastics. The NSF tests for this as well. We are certified by the
NSF. We do not add anything into the water from our Systems.”–Lorinda Long

So I asked another question:
“How about the tubing? Is it free of phthalates and BPA?”
Her answer:
“Yes!”
